      (1925–2014), British Labour politician; full name Anthony Neil Wedgwood Benn. A Labour MP from 1950, he was debarred from the House of Commons on succeeding to the title of Viscount Stansgate in 1960. He renounced his title in 1963 and was re-elected. He held several cabinet posts and gained a reputation as an orator on the left of the party.
