In 1842, he established his name with Dramatic Lyrics that contained “The Pied Piper of Hamelin” and “My Last Duchess.” A highly creative period followed his elopement with Elizabeth Barrett. Other notable works: Dramatic Romances and Lyrics (1845), Men and Women (1855), and The Ring and the Book (1868–69).
