- (1840–1917), French sculptor. He was chiefly concerned with the human form, and his first major work, The Age of Bronze (1875–76), was considered so lifelike that Rodin was alleged to have taken a cast from a live model. Other notable works: The Thinker (1880) and The Kiss (1886).
